Size & Fit

Pattern Grading Across Three Growth Stages

Children aren't scaled-down adults. Every growth stage carries its own grade rules, construction logic, and safety priorities — a dedicated block built for its age range, not one generic "kids' size" stretched across ages.

Baby

3M – 24M

Built around a newborn's head, diaper, and skin.

  • Head-first dressing Envelope necklines and snap crotch — nothing pulled over the head.
  • Diaper-ready ease Extra seat and crotch depth so pants stay up on a seated baby.
  • Zero-irritation seams Flatlock stitching and printed labels — no sewn tags against skin.
  • Class I certified only Components screened to baby-grade OEKO-TEX limits.

Toddler

2Y – 5Y

Made for independence, motion, and the potty-training years.

  • Easy-on, easy-off Elastic waists with functional drawcords, secured at center back.
  • Reinforced knees Double-layer knee panels for a day spent mostly on the floor.
  • Room to grow Adjustable cuffs and hems sized for a 3–5 month growth window.
  • Choking-hazard audited Snaps and buttons pull-tested to 16 CFR Part 1501.

Kids

6Y – 14Y

Grown-up silhouettes, engineered for the whole school year.

  • Three build fits Separate slim, regular, and husky blocks — one size never fits all.
  • Laundry-proof Durable seams, colorfastness tested past 40 industrial washes.
  • School-year grading Longer bodies and adjustable waists that still fit come May.
  • Peer-appropriate No baby trims — silhouettes matched to what kids see in stores.

  • Near-zero tolerance for harmful chemicals
  • Certificates renewed annually

GOTS Organic Cotton

  • Farm-to-garment organic certification
  • Scope Certificate for organic production
  • Transaction Certificates trace every lot
  • Pure organic — no blended claims

CPSIA / CPC Ready

  • CPC prepared before the container leaves
  • The 7 required CPC elements handled
  • You own the certificate — we do the prep

Trusted by Kidswear Founders

Brands Built on Safety and Softness

Independent childrenswear labels — baby boutiques and DTC lines alike — each with measurable outcomes.

Four factories sent the wrong fabric for our organic baby line — poly blends passed off as 100% cotton. Leeline came back with six certified GOTS options, each backed by a full mill audit report.

Our first 500-piece run passed OEKO-TEX Class I on all components — trims, thread, labels, prints included — which we'd been told would never happen with other suppliers.

The launch closed with zero returns and zero skin-irritation complaints, and a 4.9-star average across 200+ ratings.

Elena Larsson
Founder, Little Oak Apparel · Baby + Toddler

The compliance desk walked us through each step — bill of materials, lab submission, preparing the CPC, and getting tracking labels right the first time.

The CPC was ready before our container even left the factory. No last-minute scrambling, just documentation that was correct from day one.

Our first shipment cleared U.S. customs in 48 hours. Twelve months later, we're on our fourth production run and scaling up to a full seasonal collection.

Sarah Okonkwo
Co-Founder, Zuri Kids · DTC Childrenswear

Most factories just scaled the adult block down — and the fit was terrible. The pattern room here built separate blocks for each growth stage, with age-appropriate ease and construction logic.

Not one generic "kids' size" stretched across ages, but real grade rules designed around how kids move.

The sizing consistency across our 18-SKU launch was the win: not a single fit complaint across 300+ orders in the first month.

Children's Clothing FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Children's Clothing Manufacturers

What's the minimum order quantity, and can I mix sizes across age groups?

Standard MOQ is 100 units per style — and you can mix sizes freely within that style. A 120-piece order could be 40 baby rompers, 40 toddler sets, and 40 kids' tees if they're the same style and fabric. Sizes across Baby (3M–24M), Toddler (2–5), and Kids (6–14) count toward one style's MOQ. Need fewer than 100 to start? Ask about our supplier-program blanks — pre-developed fabrics and blocks that cut upfront tooling cost for a first market test.

How does sampling work — how many samples, how long, and what does it cost?

Typical flow is two rounds: a proto sample, then a pre-production sample (PPS). Proto takes 5–7 working days from an approved tech pack and confirms construction and fit. PPS takes another 5–7 days and locks the final graded spec — it's the exact garment you'll see in bulk. Sample fees are credited back once you place the production order. Send a design brief, reference photo, or existing garment and we'll quote sample cost and timeline within one business day.

How long is the full production cycle after the sample is approved?

Plan on 4–6 weeks after you approve the PPS, plus shipping. Fabric sourcing and tech pack run 3–5 days in parallel, then bulk cutting, sewing, and finishing take 15–20 days depending on order size, followed by final inspection. DDP shipping adds 7–15 days depending on destination — duties, customs clearance, and final mile included in one price. On a hard launch date? Tell us upfront and we'll lock a written production calendar with milestones before you commit.

Can I customize labels, hang tags, and packaging for my brand?

Yes — full private-label support. Choose woven or printed neck labels, satin or printed care labels, custom hang tags with logo artwork, and packaging across the range — poly bags through branded mailers. For baby garments the default is printed-on-fabric labels so nothing scratchy sits against the skin. Send label artwork and packaging specs with the tech pack and samples are produced before bulk so everything is approved up front.

How do I track my order and what does QC cover before shipment?

Orders get a dedicated production coordinator and regular updates — photos and reports at each stage. QC covers in-line checks during cutting and sewing, plus a final AQL inspection before the container ships: measurements against the graded spec, seam strength, colorfastness, label placement, and trim security. The inspection report arrives before the balance payment, so issues are caught on the factory side, not at the door.

How does DDP shipping work for U.S. and European deliveries?

DDP means one landed price — no surprise fees at customs. Export documentation, freight, insurance, duties, and final delivery to the door or warehouse are handled in-house. For U.S. orders this includes customs clearance against the importer records, so there's no chasing brokers or invoices. Typical door-to-door transit is 7–15 days by sea or faster by air for smaller sample orders.

What if I want to reorder or extend a successful style next season?

Reorder is the fastest path — the patterns, grade rules, and tech packs are already on file. For the same style and fabric, sampling can be skipped and production starts sooner because everything is locked. To extend a style — new colorway, added size range, or a seasonal pattern swap — the existing blocks get updated rather than rebuilt from scratch, so the incremental cost and lead time stay low.
